Well executed sourcing initiatives can act as catalysts for change, stimulate fresh thinking, develop new expertise, foster operational agility and ultimately position an organisation to thrive in the 21st century.
Making the right sourcing decision is always a challenge, and typically a business does not have the experience, time and resources to go through a learning curve before selecting a way forward. Going through this learning curve is a painful exercise and can prove very expensive, sometimes reducing the potential benefits to a significant extent.
Source Paradigm helps its clients develop an optimum Information Systems sourcing strategy that focuses on retaining core competencies and areas which deliver a competitive advantage, while strategically outsourcing other activities for which there is neither the desired capability nor the strategic need.
We work with our clients to design, implement and plan delivery of sourcing initiatives that help to optimise resource utilisation. Our sourcing strategies will help the client decide on the right sourcing decision for each element and function of the organisation.
Our key advisory service offerings are:
Sourcing Strategy Planning This is a review of a client’s IS organisation and an assessment as to how best align the IS organisation to meet the client’s business needs. This is done by identifying which of the IS functions are best to be done by the client’s in-house team and which ones make sense to be outsourced. Our vehicle for performing this assessment is Source Paradigm’s unique sourcing assessment tool (SATURN). Following a SATURN workshop, we will deliver a business case document that will define the choices, a proposed roadmap, the investments, the benefits, the risks and the timelines.
IS Organisation Effectiveness Review his review is essential for organisations that have already made moves into outsourcing some of their IS functions. We review the retained IS organisation and assess its effectiveness in meeting the organisation’s business goals for the functions kept in-house, judge its performance, competitiveness and cost-effectiveness against industry best practices and determine how the organisation works in tandem with its outsourcing companies in delivering value in line with defined business goals.
Mid Term Outsourcing Contract Review A number of organisations have undertaken outsourcing projects with little in the way of defined goals and objectives. In many cases even these are not met, and hence the purpose of this review is to help assess the best way to obtain those benefits. In any outsourcing relationship, moving from an existing supplier to a new supplier is an expensive proposition and hence finding ways to get value from your existing relationship is more effective and beneficial in most cases.
Vendor Selection and Due DiligenceIn any outsourcing arrangement, selecting the right fit vendor is one of the most difficult decisions. We understand the outsourcing industry and continuously listen to the pulse of current market trends and supplier experiences & performance. We can thus help our clients find the right fit vendor that suits their requirements, and also help them with operational due diligence in advance of contract execution. We also have experience in helping clients negotiate the best contract terms for their outsourcing programmes. Our contract negotiation is just not based around price but on a number of other parameters that can bring value to the organisation by establishing a sustainable client – supplier relationship.
Vendor Contract Renegotiations The outsourcing industry is going through a rapid change, and hence contracts those were signed 3 to 5 years back may not deliver the required business benefits during the second term. Hence we offer help to our clients in negotiating new business terms, keeping in line with the most current industry best practices, that are more results driven and focussed at providing continuous improvement to our client’s organisation.
